Today’s wallpaper designs are whimsical, opulent and certainly add a splash of color to any room. The Madeline Weinrib selection is based on a color palette that’s rooted in traditional forms which have been inspired from her travels. The wallpaper is hand painted then silk screened onto a clay-coated paper.
In the photo above, the collection is called “Allemande” and it draws its inspiration from antique French brocade. The patterns reveal visible brushstrokes because of Weinrib’s signature technique of using hand painting in the design. The image evokes a feeling from the past, yet it gives a fresh, contemporary look
Founded in 1978, Andrew Martin International, a UK interior design brand created by Martin Waller, offers a wide range of wallpapers that are inspired by a unique mix of cultures, nostalgia and travel.
Along with the design firm’s selection of fabrics, furniture and home accessories, Waller’s aesthetic draws inspiration from past eras and cultures.
On our Piper Hertneck blog, we’ve recently published a couple of articles on the scarcity of reclaimed woods. Andrew Martin’s addressed this dilemma by creating wallpaper inspired from reclaimed woods.
